 mailing list and some other stuff

in case you were wondering what that new box right above my rant is, it's a mailing list widget. if you sign up, you'll receive an email (hopefully) every week saying 'the new strip is up', plus news about any other enhancements or fd-related items.
don't worry, we won't sell your email address to a junk provider or anything stupid like that.
went to ace cider yesterday to hang out w/ a friend. that place is awesome - the apple and berry ciders are ok, i guess, but the pear and honey ciders are amazing. if you're ever in the sebastopol area, it's totally worth checking out. the food is pretty good too (although tough to find vegan-friendly stuff).
also went to california carnivores, which specializes in carnivorous plants. i didn't get to watch any of the plants feed, but some of them are really pretty. most of them are dormant right now, being winter and all, but the guy that runs the place said to come back between march and september. these guys are also in the sebastopol area. i find it a little interesting that this strip touches on vegetarianism (meat sacks that eat plants), which came to being during the same week i went to a place that has plants that eat meat.
anyway, i'm really happy w/ the way this comic came out - especially the last panel. this should be the last of the m5 for awhile (that thing takes a lot of time to draw), and hopefully the last of the rain for a bit.
