Airline --

I have a terrible confession to make ... I am completely fascinated by this new A&E reality show, Airline. They are basically putting cameras on the ground crew with Southwest Airlines. It's exactly the slice of life kind of show that reaffirms my belief that this world is on a non-stop flight to hell.
The beauty of the show is that we aren't consistently confronted with the same cast of characters like your standard reality program. I guess the closest comparison would be with Cops. We are confronted with 'stinky guy', 'vulgar drunk', 'ignorant woman', and let us not forget the 'customer of size'. I swear, the only thing we are missing is a little domestic violence, some illegal drugs tucked into their waistband, or that Bad Boys song playing during the transitions.
I've already griped about an airline or two, but the larger concern with flying is the public. The rest of the passengers on the flight are constantly leaving me to wonder how our nation continues to function. Its no surprise to me that debt levels rise while test scores drop. If the vapid troglodytes on this program are any indication of the current state of our nation, I think we are going to continue to go downhill. These are the parents and teachers who are supposed to be teaching our next generation. A classic case of the blind leading the blind. As a matter of fact, one of the vignettes on the program tonight dealt with a screaming horde of children who were trying to incite a riot on a plane with the encouragement of one of their chaperones.
My take-away lesson from the show tonight:
"The next time you fly, you'll know not to start drinking at dawn."

just one of those weeks where my company posts its numbers, and i work all weekend until wednesday. happens 4 times a year. gives my girlfriend a little alone time, and i get put up at a hotel. this one went a lot better than most, finishing up at 10 or 11 each night, rather than 3 or 4.
more next time, since most of you probably will never see this :)
oh yeah, totally happy w/ this strip - might be one of my favorites. i like how the new character came out, and am really pleased w/ the motion effect in the last panel
